A forest official was killed and another injured in a road accident at Patiya upazila in Chittagong yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 55, a forest official of Department of Forest (North) zone, a resident of Khankhanabad area of Patiya upazila, said police.
Nayek Abdul Bashar of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost said a Chittagong city bound motorbike carrying Abdur Razzak, 55, a forest official of Department Of Forest (North) zone, a resident of Khankhanabad area of Patiya upazila, and Salauddin, 26, was hit by a speeding pickup van from behind in Veullapara bridge area of Patiya, leaving them critical injured.
They were taken to the CMCH where the on duty doctors declared Razzak dead, said Nayek Bashar.
Salauddin was undergoing treatment at the CMCH.
