At least 15 people including two women were injured in a factional clash among the ruling party men at Dhananjoypur village under Jhenaidah sadar upazila on Monday night.
The injured were rushed to Jhenaidah sadar hospital, Jhenaidah police station Officer-in-Charge Shahabuddin Azad said.
The clash erupted following the rivalry between AL upazila unit leader and incumbent chairman of Furshuni union parishad Shaidul Islam and another AL leader and general secretary of Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Advocate Abdul Malek.
They used lethal and sharp weapons during the fierce clash that left 15 persons injured.
Additional police men were deployed to control the situation, the OC said.
