At least 19 persons have been injured as the gas cylinder of a passenger bus exploded in Napora area under Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong.
The injured were rushed to upazila health complex and Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Of the injured, Abu Saleh, 32, his wife Urme Salma, 25, and their son Shahadat, 5, have been admitted to CMCH.
The injured said they sustained burn injuries as hot mobil from the bus engine fell on the when the engine caught fire Tuesday morning.
The driver of the bus fled the spot leaving the bus on a roadside ditch, they added.
CMCH police said six more people with burn injuries are being brought to the hospital.
Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Banshkhali police station, told the Dhaka Tribune that the gas cylinder of the bus exploded around 9:30am leaving at least 19 injured.
