Bangladeshi boy taken by BSF, later released

The Indian Border Security Force personnel picked up a Bangladeshi 12-year-old from Haripur of Thakurgaon yesterday morning.

The BSF men caught Mohammad Wasim, of Geruadangi village in Haripur, while he was working on the field with his father around 11am, and took him away.

Intelligence Officer Maj Tawhid bin Ishaq of BGB 30 Battalion said: “We protested the matter over the phone and asked for a flag meeting.”

Wasim was released two hours later, after a flag meeting on the no man’s land near Dabri border.
