Technical glitch halts United Airways flight

Update : 20 Jul 2014, 02:02 PM

Some technical glitch has forced an United Airways flight to stop on the runway at Cox's Bazar Airport.

The incident took place soon after the passenger flight landed at the airport on Sunday evening.

Some trouble in the nose-wheel gear forced the plane to stop in the middle of the runway, deputy general manager (PR), Kamrul Islam told Dhaka Tribune.

“The plane was heading towards the terminal,” he said.

He also said a team of engineers has already headed towards the spot to fix the problem.

All passengers and crews of the plane are safe, the United Airways official added.

United Airways operates scheduled domestic flights in Dhaka, Sylhet, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Jessore and Rajshahi along with international service to Kolkata, London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Jeddah, Muscat and Doha.
