Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained a total of 29 Bangladeshis from Benapole land-port in Jessore early Saturday.
Shafiqul Islam, officer in-charge, investigation, Benapole port police station, said: “The BGB members held the 29 Bangladeshis, including four children and 14 women, early Saturday while the detainees were trying to go to India illegally.”
“The detainees were hailed from Jessore, Satkhira, Narail, Khulna, Bagerhat and Jhenidah districts.”
A case has been filed with the port police station against the arrestees on charge of illegally crossing the border.
