Border Security Force of India (BSF) has detained two Bangladeshis at Dharmagarh border under Ranishangkoil upazila of Thakurgaon district.
The detainees are Johurul, 25 and Jewel, 16.
Confirming the incident, Intelligence Officer of 30-Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major Towhid said around 10:30 pm, a petrol team of 121 BSF battalion of Sreepur camp in India arrested the two from the border near sub-pillar no 327/7-S inside the Indian territory at Dangripara village.
He said three months before the duo had gone to India illegally in search of work. They were returning to Bangladesh on Thursday.
BGB had conveyed a letter to BSF for returning the detained. A flag meeting between the border guarding forces of the two countries was scheduled to be held yesterday in this regard, said the intelligence officer.
