On Wednesday, police has held an owner of a ready-made garment (RMG) company from Chittagong city’s Tin Puler Matha area for allegedly attacking police when the law enforcers charged him due to violation of the traffic rules.
The arrestee is identified as Mohammad Mainuddin who has a RMG factory in the port city, said Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shah Mohammad Abdur Rouf of Kotwali circle in Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
He said that Mainuddin parked his car on the road which made several hours long huge tailback on the intersection where three busy city roads are connected.
Later, police charged him for parking the car which suffered both commuters and police but Mainuddin started showing agitation against police.
He also said, at one stage of altercation with the law enforcers, he grabbed the collar of a policeman’s shirt while some other policemen nabbed him due to his misconduct.
The AC added that the arrestee was taken to Kotwali police station.
A case will be lodged with Kotwali police station against the RMG owner for obstructing government duty and attack on police.
