Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has show-caused Narayanganj road and transport department deputy assistant engineer Jafaruzzaman Miah due to negligence in his duty.
He took the action while visiting Kanchan bridge road at Vulta area of Rupganj in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
Earlier, he visited a under construction bridge on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the area.
While visiting the site, the minister said: “We have taken the challenge of retain normal vehicular movement on the highways. The entry points of the capital will be kept traffic jam free ahead of the Eid.”
Obaidul said: “The Joydeppur-Mymensingh road will be opened if necessary to reduce the sufferings of the passengers.”
The minister expressed his optimism that the passengers would not suffer due to tailback during the upcoming Eid.
