The government has appointed Mohammad Ziauddin, Ambassador-at-Large of the Prime Minister, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States of America
Ziauddin will enjoy the rank and status of state minister, said a press release of the foreign ministry.
Earlier, the Public Administration Ministry also issued a notification in this regard.
A career diplomat, Ziauddin joined BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre with seniority from 1974.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served in Bangladesh missions in London, Nairobi and New York in various capacities.
He also served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy with concurrent accreditation to Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina and Permanent Representative to FAO, WFP and IFAD in Rome.
Ziauddin had been serving as Ambassador-at-Large of the Prime Minister with the rank and status of State Minister since 2009.
