Police rescued seven Malaysia-bound passengers and seized the two CNG-run auto-rickshaws on which they were being transported from Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
On being tipped off, Ukhiya police station Sub-Inspector Nazrul led a drive around 9:30pm from Officepara area of Jaliyapalang union of the upazila and rescued the passengers. He said the main culprits were Nurul Kabir and his wife Rizia Begum, who managed to escape during the drive.
