At least four people have been killed and 35 others injured as a bus hit a roadside tree on Dhaka-Barisal highway near Ghatakchar area of Madaripur on Sunday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The injured have been taken to nearby clinics and hospitals.
Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Jafar Ullah told the Dhaka Tribune that a Barisal-bound bus hit a roadside tree after its driver had lost control over its steering in the afternoon.
He said police recovered the bodies of four persons from the spot.
