Communications Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday asked the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) authority to make all the major roads and highways of the country fit for transportation by July 20.
“No excuse will be tolerated and none will go unpunished if they fail to carry out their duty appropriately. Work order of the contractors will be cancelled if negligence found in their works. Three teams have been formed by the ministry and they are inspecting the current state of the roads and highways of the country,” the minister said.
Obaidul Quader came up with the observations after inspecting Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mograpara area in Sonargaon and upazila sadar road this morning.
