Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has asked those who are talking about Talpatti to go to the island and hold protest there.
Joy also ICT adviser of the prime minister made the statement while addressing a seminar in the capital on Friday evening.
“Those who are telling falsehood about Talpatti Island, I request you to go there and outset movement there. I think you know how to swim,” Joy said.
The seminar titled "Spirit of Liberation War, Democracy and future Bangladesh" was organised by non-political organisation "Suchinta Foundation" at Lakeshore hotel in the capital.
Joy said though Talpatti Island was visible in 1980 but the Bangladesh map of that period had shown that it was not a part of Bangladesh.
“Does that means Ziaur Rahman gave the Island for India?” Joy posed a question.
He said: “The Island has submerged under sea water at 90s but it has been using as political weapon for a couple of decades."
Criticizing some media for their "negative" news on victory of maritime boundary, joy said people do not like to pick up good news. In stead, they focus on bad news.
