Rail communications of Dhaka with Chittagong and Sylhet have resumed after seven hours of suspension following a derailment of a freight train.
Shahjahan, stationmaster of Narsigdi Railway Station endorsed the information to media on Wednesday night.
Two compartments of a Chittagong-bound container train from Dhaka veered off the tracks at Baribari in between Ghorashal and Zinardi railway stations around 6pm, snapping rail communications in Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes, the stationmaster said.
Train schedules have been hampered because of the derailment, the officials said.
