BSF returns 25 Bangladeshi children

A total of 25 Bangladeshi children were handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) through Benapole border area in Jessore on Tuesday evening.

Nayek Subedar Hafizur Rahman, BGB in-charge of Benapole check post, said: “Human traffickers had trafficked the under privileged children to India with the promise of providing good jobs to them.”

“The traffickers also promised the children saying they would be able to study in the country,” he said.

The BGB official said: “They were arrested by Indian police and sent to jails. Later, they were sent to different shelter homes with the help of a human rights organisation.”

“The human rights organisation informed Bangladesh Woman Lawyers Association regarding the children, he said.

Subedar Hafizur said the human rights organisation brought back the trafficked children with help of the government.
