DNCC announces Tk2041 crore budget

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Tuesday announced a Tk2041 crore 87 lakh budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year (FY).

The budget has increased by Tk 93 crore 34 lakh from the FY 2013-14 budget. And it is also TK 932 crore 30 lakh more than the revised budget for the previous fiscal year.  

This year the budget will be financed largely by an expected Tk1103 crore 50 lakh by the government and foreign financed projects.

The DNCC expects to raise Tk810 crore 77 lakh from taxes and revenue from sources including holdings, trade licenses, advertisements, rickshaw licenses, markets and community centres, of which 46% will be holding taxes

Tk1680 crore 65 lakh of the allocations will be spent on development, of which TK1103 crore 50 lakh will be spent in different projects. And the revenue expenditure will be TK248 crore.

Md Firoz Jalil, the administrator of the DNCC, announced the budget at the capital’s Uttara community  Centre. Senior officials of the corporation including DNCC Chief Executive Officer BM Enamul Haque were present at the programme.
