Some miscreants have abducted a girl after killing her brother at Pakurtali village in Sadar upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Sabuj, 22, son of Abu Taleb.
“Some miscreants stabbed Sabuj when he put up resistance against abduction of his sister Khadiza. Sabuj died on the spot,” Sadar thana Officer-in-Charge Abdur Rashid told the Dhaka Tribune.
The miscreants kidnapped Khadiza and fled using a micro-bus.
Police, in a raid on Saturday morning, arrested five persons in this connection and are quizzing them, the OC added.
The arrestees are Juhurul Islam, of Gabtali of Bogra, Sohel Rana, 15, of Nataipara, Razan, Sourav and Manik.
