Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hosted an iftar party for her family members and relatives at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.
The premier went round different table sets for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their well-being. Eminent autism expert and Prime Minister's daughter Saima Hossain Putul was present on the occasion.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity for the nation.
Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the munajat.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15 massacre, martyrs of the War of Liberation and the heroes of all democratic movements.
Awami League Presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Sheikh Fazley Noor Taposh, MP, Mahbub Ara Gini, MP, Jubo League Chairman Alhaj Omar Faruq Chowdhury and Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan Papon, MP, attended the iftar, among others.
