Preity Zinta is set to make her big screen comeback with Neeraj Pathak’s “Bhaiyyaji Superhitt.”
The actress will reportedly play a foul-mouthed bandit in the movie, which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role as a gangster from Uttar Pradesh.
Pathak confirmed the news, telling IANS: “Preity plays an Uttar Pradeshwali. Her character is a gangster’s daughter, and a no-nonsense [Uttar Pradesh] gangster herself, who is also Sunny Deol’s wife.
“Preity’s interpretation of the firebrand wife’s character is bang-on. She will not be seen as an actor suited only for urbane sophisticated roles after ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhitt.’”
Deol is said to be so impressed with Zinta’s performance that he is now keen to cast her as Sohni’s Punjabi mother in the remake of “Sohni Mahiwal,” in which Deol’s son is to play the lead role.
Her last film was an ill-fated home production “Ishkq in Paris,” which failed to release.
