Communications Minister Obaidul Quader set this December as the deadline to complete the Dhaka-Chittagong 4-lane highway project.
Responding to the ruling party lawmaker Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, he made comment at the parliament yesterday.
He said the construction would be completed according to approval DPP.It started in January-2011 which was scheduled to finish in January-2013.
The minister claimed the project was delayed due to structures like mosques, temples and graveyards built near by the highway.
He said that the construction of 72.70 kilometres of 192.30 kilometres had been completed.
The minister said: “Cooperation of all parties is essential to complete the project.”
