Probe report submission date in journalist couple Sagar Sarowar-Meherun Runi murder case has been deffered for 26th time.
A Dhaka court deferred the date on Sunday. The court asked Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to submit the probe report before it on August 13.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Erfanullah passed the order on Sunday as Wares Ali, the Investigation Officer of the case, failed to submit the probe report.
A total of eight accused, who are now in the jail, were present in the court.
RAB submitted a progress report on the investigation of the murder case to the High Court on March 10.
At first, the Detective Branch (DB) of police was tasked with the investigation. But later the DB admitted its failure and the onus of probing the case was transferred to Rab on April 18, 2012.
Sagar Sarowar and his wife Meherun Runi were killed at their West Rajabazar rented flat in the capital on February 11, 2012.
Sagar was news editor of private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Runi was senior reporter of another private TV channel ATN Bangla.
