The couple, who sustained burn injuries from a fire that broke out at their residence in Gazipur, died yesterday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
According to the DMCH sources, Jewel Hossain, 25, and his wife Munni Begum, 22, died yesterday afternoon, seven days after they and their only child Famim Hossain sustained burn injuries on June 17.
They were rushed to DMCH in critical conditions, where Fahim succumbed to his injuries.
Local sources said the fire had originated from a mosquito coil at about 4am while the victims were in asleep in their room.
Jewel Hossain, a garment worker, had been living in Degerchala area under Gazipur City Corporation with his family for the last three
years.
Mozzammel Haque, inspector of DMCH police outpost, told the Dhaka Tribune that relatives of the deceased had taken their bodies away to their village home for burial. L
