The authority of Chittagong University (CU) suspended classes of all departments from June 24 to August 07 on Monday afternoon, immediately after the recovery of the weapons.
The closure decision was taken at a meeting with Professor Anwarul Azim Arif, vice-chancellor of CU, in the chair at his office around 12:30 pm.
Professor Siraj-Ud-Dowla, CU proctor, told the Dhaka Tribune that considering the immense sufferings of the student following the adverse weather, classes were suspended from June 24 to August 07.
However, the scheduled examinations would be held during the period, he added.
The general students of CU claimed that the authority has taken the decision in order to avert clash between two groups Chhatra League at the campus over establishing supremacy.
The authority of CU, however, said all the classes of the university were suspended due to adverse weather.
