Railway service of Chittagong has been resumed after a three and half-hour halt on Sunday afternoon.
Tofazzal Hossain, general manager of Bangladesh Railway (East Zone), confirmed about the restoration of the railway service to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the service resumed around 4:30pm.
Earlier in the day, the authorities halted the railway communications of Chittagong with other parts of the country as non-stop downpour washed away soil under the no. 34 bridge, situated in-between Bhatiari and Kumira area under Sitakunda upazila.
