The by-election for the Narayanganj 5 constituency will be held on June 26.

"We are working with dedication and sincerity to hold the election in a free and fair manner. Some 11,000 RAB personnel have been entrusted with election duty," commanding officer of RAB 11, Lt Col Md Anwar Latif Khan, said at a press briefing on Saturday.

He said a control room was set up at RAB 11 headquarters to monitor the overall activities concerning the election.

The RAB commander requested the inhabitants of Narayanganj 5 constituency to lodge any complaints they have with the control room.

Four candidates are running for the Narayanganj 5 parliamentary constituency by-election. They are: independent candidate former AL lawmaker SM Akram, Jatiya Party candidate Selim Osman, Krishak Sramik Janata League candidate Shafiqul Islam Delowar and independent candidate advocate Mamun Sirajul Majid.

The constituency fell vacant on April 29 following the death of Jatiya Party lawmaker Nasim Osman.
