Two brothers have been electrocuted in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail district on Friday morning.
Another three received injuries while rescuing them.
The deceased were identified as Alhaz Murtuz Ali,65, and his elder brother Alhaz Mukhter Ali,60, in Ram-Kha village under Kalia union of the upazila.
Witness Azhar Ali said both came in contact with live electric wire in an electric pillar of their residence when they went to repair it in the morning during rain.
Azhar Ali, 32, Habib, 45, and Khalil in the same village were injured as they went to rescue them.
Later local people rescued all of them and rushed to Sakhipur upazila health complex where on duty doctors declared Murtuz and Mukhter dead.
Mukhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sakhipur police station, confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune about the incident.
