The government yesterday set new office hours from 9am to 3:30pm during the Ramadan. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
According to the decision, all government, semi-government and autonomous organisations will follow the time which includes a 15-minute break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayer, said Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan after the meeting.
However, the High Court, Bangladesh Bank, the insurance companies, state-owned factories and Bangladesh Railway will remain out of the rule while those respective authorities will fix their office time as per necessity, the secretary continued.
