A Nilphamari court has awarded death sentence to seven people for their involvement in a murder case.
Nilphamari Additional Sessions Judge’s Court pronounce the verdict on Monday afternoon over the murder of Abdul Jabbar, a farmer of Nayan Khal area under Kishorganj upazila.
The death-row convicts are Rafiqul Islam, Tulab Hossain, Atahar Ali, Mahsin Ali, Mahubar Rahman, Mintu Mia and Abdur Razzaque.
The court also awarded life sentence to two others while two others were acquitted. All of the convicts are absconding.
According to the case statement, the convicts killed Abdul Jabbar, a local farmer on July 28, 2008. Jabbar's son Abdus Salam filed a murder case against 11 people.
