A person has been shot dead and five others injured at a trawler in Alinagar village under Dewghar union in Kishoreganj early Monday.
The deceased is Abu Hossain, 50, son of late Ansar Ali of Harinathpur village in Gaibandha district.
Bajitpur police station Officer-in-Charge Ramzan Hossain confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
Astogram police station Officer-in-Charge Chowdhury Mizanuzzaman said: “The robbers attacked the Bajitpur-bound trawler carrying 10 passengers in the early hours of the day. They fired at the passengers, injuring six others.”
He said: “The duty doctor declared Abu Hossain dead when he was taken to Bajitpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.”
Meanwhile, the robbers also looted Tk6 lakh and precious items from the passengers.
