Locals and the family members of the victims of Narayanganj killing have demanded capital punishment for Nur Hossain, the prime accused of the seven people in the district.
The death penalty demand came from a human chain formed at Mouchak area in Siddhirganj on Sunday afternoon.
They also brought out a procession from the area demanding capital punishment for all the accused involved in the seven murders in Narayanganj.
Slain Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam's wife Selina Islam said: “We urge Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the capital punishment for Nur and his aides.”
Nazrul's brother Abdus Salam, father-in-law Shahidul Islam, late Sapwan's brother Ripon Mia and late Tazul's father Abul Khaer, among others, were present in the human chain.
On Saturday, Kolkata police arrested Nur Hossain along with his two accomplices from a fourth floor apartment of Indraprastha apartment complex owned by some Seema Singh, who lives in Mumbai.
On April 27, NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted. Later, their bodies were recovered from Shitalaykha River on April 30.
Nazrul's wife filed an abduction case against Nur on April 28.
