Two motorcyclists have been killed in a road accident near Shahartali area at Myensingh-Fulbaria highway in the district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Mejbahuddin Toha and his friend Tanmay, residence of Shahartali area of Mymensingh headquarters. Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Karim endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said, “Toha and Tanmay had gone out with a motorcycle in the noon for jummah prayer. When they were returning home at Akua Hajibari area near Mymensingh-Fulbaria highway around 2pm, a speeding goods laden truck hit them.” They died on the spot, he said. Police seized the truck from the area, but its driver and his assistant managed to escape, he informed.
