A Marayanganj court has placed Mortuza Zaman alias Churchil, bodyguard of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the sensational seven-murder case, on a five-day fresh remand.

Senior Judicial Magistrate HM Shafiqul Islam passed the order when police produced him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer on completion of his five-day remand on Thursday afternoon.

Churchill was arrested from Faridpur by the DB Police early on Friday.

Narayanganj Panel Mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted on April 27. Their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya River on April 30.

Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against Nur and four others on April 28.

Nur went into hiding immediately after the recovery of Nazrul’s body.
