The Anti-Corruption Commission has approved filing of a case against 17 people including parents of Sohel Rana, owner of collapsed Rana Plaza at Savar.
The ACC has decided to filed case against them over their alleged involvement with irregularities of construction of eight-storey building Rana Plaza that collapsed on April 24 last year.
The commission officials will file the case with Savar police station next week under the corruption prevention act, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the Dhaka Tribune.
The building that housed at least five garment factories was collapsed with killing at least 1138 people while over a thousand people were survived with injuries and many are still missing.
The ACC team also found that the building, which was given an approval for construction of shopping mall was mainly used for RMG factory purposes.
