At least four people have been killed and three others injured as a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Moshipur area near Nagarbari-Pabna highway in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj on Thursday afternoon.
Of the deceased two were identified as Selim Ahmed, 30, and CNG driver Shamsul Islam, 35, hailing from Brammokpalia village in Ullapara. The identity of two other passengers could not be known immediately.
Shahjadpur police station Sub-Inspector Abdus Salam said: “Four passengers of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw died as a speedy truck rammed into it at Moshipur area. The truck driver fled immediately after the accident.”
Vehicular movement was halted for three hours due to the accident.
