A fire burnt the kitchen and cattle house of Kurpuli Bewa, a prosecution witness in the case of the Jamaat leader and war crime convict Quamaruzzaman's case, at Bidhaba Palli under Nalitabari upazila of the district early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at 3am and burnt the kitchen and cattle house when three cows received burn injuries.
Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari police station, said the fire incident was being investigated whether it was an intentional act or normal accident.
Security has been tightened in the Bidhaba Palli, he further said.
The deputy commissioner and high police officials of Sherpur district visited the spot of fire incident.
Nalitabari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahbuba Irin gave financial aid and corrugated iron sheet to the fire victim family.
