A priest has been killed and another injured in a shooting at a Catholic church in Phoenix, Arizona early Thursday.
One of the victims made a call to 911 around 9pm on Wednesday (local time) from the Mother of Mercy Mission Catholic Church, said Sgt Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department.
Martos described the incident as a burglary, reports CNN.
Police found the two priests badly injured when they arrived at the spot.
One of the priests had gunshot wounds and later died at the hospital, Martos said.
The other priest is in critical condition, but authorities declined to say what kind of injuries he has.
A green 2003 Mazda Tribute was stolen from the church property and later found, but the attackers are still at large.
