At least four people have reportedly received bullet wounds in clash between illegal passengers and their brokers in a Malaysia-bound trawler in Saint Martin of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
The identities of the injured could not be ascertained immediately.
Coast Guard Teknaf Station Commander Kazi Harunur Rashid has confirmed about the shot injured to the Dhaka Tribune.
The trawler was heading to Malaysia carrying about 300 illegal Bangladeshis, he said.
The clash erupted between illegal passengers and their brokers when the engine of the trawler went out of run in the Bay of Bengal on way to Malaysia, he said.
