A fire has broken out at a slum in the city's Jamburi field area of Agrabad in the city on Tuesday evening.
Witnesses said the fire originated from a tin made woven around 7pm. However, the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence, said: “Two firefighting units managed to douse the blaze after an hour-long effort at 8pm.”
No report of casualty has been filed till filing the report at 8.10pm.
