The High Court has accepted appeal for a hearing filed by life sentenced convict BNP leader Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu challenging his conviction in the BDR carnage case.
The bench of Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Haque and Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder has accepted the appeal of the lifer and suspended his fine of Tk5 lakh until the hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
The hearing of another appeal filed by Pintu to get first class facility in jail will be held on Wednesday.
On November 5, former BNP MP Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu and Awami League leader Torab Ali have been awarded life-term imprisonment for their involvement in the BDR carnage in 2009.
The court has fined them Tk500,000 each.
The court also sentenced 151 mutineers to death for their involvement in the carnage.
