Ekushey Padak winner Baul Abdul Karim Shah has died at his Kushtia residence on Tuesday morning. He was 90.
Abdul Karim Shah was suffering from Asthma. He was admitted to Kushtia Medical College Hospital on April 24 after he had fallen sick.
Later, the veteran singer was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on June 1 for better treatment. He was released from DMCH on Saturday and went back to Kushtia.
He breathed his last around 8am at his residence.
Abdul Karim Shah received Ekushey Padak for his contribution in folk songs in 2011.
