A three day long charity film festival, titled “Dui Banglar Cholochchitro Utsab, Maa-er Jonno” commenced on June 8 at the National Museum auditorium in the capital. As part of the festival, three films from India including “Moner Manush” and “Troyodoshi,” a quartet of short films based on Tagore’s poems and “Abar Aranye” will be showcased today.
Indian famed director Goutam Ghose’s films “Moner Manush” will be showcased at 10:30am and “Abar Aranye” at 6:00pm while Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s “Troyodoshi” will be showcased at 3:00pm.
The festival has been arranged to support the medical treatment of ad-maker Shah Fazle Rabbi’s mother Shahan Ara Begum, who is a cancer victim.
The entire festival features films by noted directors including Goutam Ghose and Buddhadeb Dasgupta (from Kolkata), alongside Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Morshedul Islam. The directors, including Goutam Ghose and Buddhadeb Dasgupta, were present at the festival.
