BYLC launches Youth Leadership Summit 2014

Youth Leadership Summit begins tomorrow at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital with the theme “Strengthening the Spirit of Public Leadership: A Journey from I to We”.

Hosted by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), the first leadership institute in the country, the three-day summit will bring together 500 national and international delegates representing five continents, as well as 50 national and international speakers, including experts from Harvard University and Cambridge Leadership Associates, for three days of knowledge sharing, leadership training and networking.

The title sponsors of the summit are the UK government and UNDP, and the public sector partner is the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The summit will feature a mix of plenaries and panels on youth in civil service, education and career, sustainable development, innovation for the public good, gender and leadership, good governance, active citizenship and youth entrepreneurship,.

“Leadership is the vehicle that can bridge the gap between Bangladesh as it is today and Bangladesh as it ought to be. And this leadership has to come from the young generation. This is why we have organised this summit,” said Ejaj Ahmad, BYLC founder and president, while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club.
