A couple has been killed when lightning struck them at Azul village of Enayetpur union under Mahadebpur upazila of the district on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Matin, 45, and his wife Renu Begum, 35, of the same area.
Mahadebpur police station Officer-in-charge Enayet Uddin confirmed the incident.
Police said the lightning followed by a rainstorm hit the duo around 6am when they were in the yard of their house. Both of them died on the spot.
