Dhaka Metropolitan Police is set to launch drives to prevent formalin-mixed fruits' entry into the capital.
The drive will begin from Wednesday night. DMP will set up checkpoints in all the entrances to Dhaka.
DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed made the announcement at a press conference held at DMP media centre on Sunday afternoon.
“DMP has taken the initiative so that the city people can have poison-free fruits,” said Benazir.
He also called upon people from all walks of life to participate in the drive and cooperate with police.
