Two children have drowned in a pond at Fullashri village under Bakal union of Agoiljhara upazila in Barisal district on Saturday.
The victims were Poly, 7, daughter of Siraj Molla, Mim, 8, daughter of Shahjahan Talukdar of the village.
Agoiljhara police station Officer-in-Charge Sajjad Hossain said the girls fell into a nearby pond while playing.
Later, family members rescued them and admitted to upazila health complex where on-duty doctor declared them dead, he added.
The bodies were handed over to family members and a case was lodged in this connection, the OC said.
