A video showing a man in traditional attire of the Gulf region brutally whipping and beating up a person, has caused a huge share in the social network website with denouncement of the brutal torture, which is widely perceived as a Saudi man beating up a Bangladeshi worker.
However, many say, an Arab master is beating up his Bangladeshi servant as the victim seems to be an Asian.
This video has been shared more than 1500 times so far.
The Saudi man in the video, who has not been named, accuses the victim of talking to his wife and then proceeds to attack him.
The beating has led the country's human rights authority to receive multiple complaints by viewers calling for the perpetrator to be punished, Al Arabiya quoted spokesperson Ibrahim al-Shadi.
Many came up with the resentment and concern over the treatment of the migrant labourers who go to the Middle East.
Many criticised the act of beating as “barbaric” and called for action from human rights bodies.
People who uploaded the video raised question regarding the behaviour and treatment to the workers in these countries.
The conversation suggests the video titled as “Bangladeshi Miskin in Saudi Arabia” that racism was behind the torture.
One of the persons who posted the video wrote in his note: “We must condemn evil regardless of who the perpetrator is. Some Arabs living in the gulf countries are very harsh towards their servants. They think that since they have the money, they have the authority to do this to the poor. One cannot beat a servant like this.”
Another said: “This is the way the Saudis treat other Muslim's from the Asian continents. When a Muslim wishes to work in Saudi Arabia for the sake of being close to his religion he/she has to be sponsored by a Saudi citizen, this creates the impression upon the Saudi citizen that he/she is in control of the non-Saudi's life."
“The Muslims today are not being oppressed by non-Muslims but they are being oppressed more by their own fellow brothers.” the second comment added.
The video was posted on Youtube on October 26 of last year. The video was uploaded by JP Gallery, an India based entertainment channel.
