The government has sent two deputy directors of the Anti Corruption Commission to forced retirement after completion of 25 years of service.
The cabinet division issued a gazette notification on Thursday ordering forced retirement of deputy directors M Ahsan Ali and M Shafiqul Islam.
The notification said that the officials have been sent to retirement as per the service rules.
Earlier in last month, the ACC transferred its deputy director Ahsan Ali to Kushtia from their Dhaka headquarters while he was conducting an inquiry into many major graft cases including money laundering allegations against BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, alleged accumulation of illegal wealth by Cox’s BAzar lawmaker Abdur Rahman Badi, and allegations of corruption by Petrobangla chairman Hussain Monsur.
