Nasim: No parliament election before 2019

Update : 18 Apr 2014, 02:51 PM

Awami League Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Muhammad Nasim has said no more parliamentary election will be held in the country a single day before 2019.

He was addressing a public rally of Awami League at Kanaikhali Old Bus Terminal in Natore on Friday.

“The 2019 elections will also be held under the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said Nasim.

He said: “We have limited time to serve the nation. During the next five years, our main task will be to win the hearts and confidence of the people. We want peace but not anarchy.”

He also said Khaleda Zia was totally against the 10th national election, however Sheikh Hasina had done it successfully and we became ministers.

“BNP had burnt police, BGB and general people to foil the election. They had tried to create a constitutional crisis. Finally they were defeated politically,” he added.

“After coming to power, we have provided fertilizer and electricity to the people and prevented militancy and terrorism,” said the minister.
