Two farmers have been killed and two others injured when lightning struck them at Angan Haor area in Itna upazila of Kishoreganj district on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Md Faruk Mia, 35, son of Amir Hossain and Abdur Rashid, 37, son of Abdur Rahman of Paikpara village under Tarail upazila.
Police and locals said thunderbolt struck their temporary house at Itna Angan haor around 1am, leaving four of them critically injured. They used to go to harvest paddy at haor from the house.
Of the injured, Faruk and Abdur Rashid died at Tarail upazila health complex around 7:30am on Friday.
Injured Kanchan Mia, 42, and Azizul Haque, 36, have been rushed to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.
Officer-in-Charge of Itna police station Abul Hashem confirmed about the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
